Sigma Corp of America (not so) Perfect World Contest
Sigma Corporation of America seems to be having some trouble with their “Perfect World Contest”.
On Monday, May 07, 2007, I received an email from Sigma Corporation of America announcing their Perfect World Contest. The email looked like this:
Today, Thursday May 17, 2007, I received another email from Sigma announcing a change in the prizes. The email looked like this:
The website for the contest looks like this, currently:
The list of prizes looks exactly the same on the image links to the prize description. All three pages (the two emails, and the website) list the same a first, second and third place prize, with a consolation prize. However, the linked prizes are not the same as on the contest announcement, even after the corrections.
The image on the contest announcement says it’s supposed to be a Sigma 70mm f2.8 EX DG Macro SLR Camera Lens. But, clicking on the 1st prize link takes you to http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_lens_details.asp?id=3251&navigator=2 which is for a Sigma “Large size Circular Polarizing Filter”.
The image on the contest announcement says it’s supposed to be a Sigma 28-300mm f3.5-6.3 DG Macro SLR Camera lens. But, clicking on the 2nd prize link takes you to http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3288&navigator=6 which is for a Sigma 55-200mm F4-5.6 DC SLR Camera lens.
The image on the contest announcement says it’s supposed to be a Sigma 28-70mm f2.8-4 SLR Camera lens. But, clicking on the 3rd prize link takes you to http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3286&navigator=6 which is for a Sigma 18-50mm F3.5-5.6 DC SLR Camera lens.
There is no link for the hat.
Sigma Corporation of America has fixed their Perfect World photography contest prize links. The product prizes linked from the Perfect World Contest now match the prize description text on the image links.
